Growing
up, I knew never to mix black and brown. I'm not sure where I got that
advice. My mom? Girl Scouts? Church ladies? I have no idea. Either
way, I guess I saw it as the cardinal sin of getting dressed in the
morning. It has taken a long time to get out of that mindset - and I'll
admit that it is still hard for me to do. I managed to do it today
because 1) I have a top with both black and brown and 2) I had a strong
desire to wear comfortable shoes this morning. These are perhaps the
most comfortable shoes in my closet.

I like the black and brown look. I'm with you- I didn't believe it was even close to acceptable until very recently. Now I see it in a completely different light.
